What are the most energy efficient blinds?

While all blinds and window coverings provide some insulation when closed, by for the best insulation value is from our cellular honeycomb shades.

Honeycomb shades increase the R-value of your windows by “trapping” air in the individual cells. This trapped air helps keeps the heat or cold out depending on the time of year.

What blind/shade provides the best view?

When you have a view that you don't want blocked by a window shades, there a couple of good options for your privacy needs without limiting your view. Cellular shades are an excellent choice for this reason. Honeycomb cellular shades close very tight to the top of your windows. Add in a looping control cord option on your window and you have the best option available for privacy and unimpeded views. Our soft sheer horizontals are another shade that is excellent for the same reasons as the cellular shades. While wood and faux wood blinds don't offer the same stacking tightness of the above mentioned shades, they can still offer a great view through the tilted open slats. Although your view will be somewhat blocked by the individual slats the view is still available to you.

How do I clean my blinds?

Depending on the product you have chosen cleaning you blinds is simple and easy. A feather duster or a soft cloth will work well for dust and light dirt. It is okay to use a lightly moistened cloth to clean your blinds also. For deep cleaning Blinds Chalet recommends contacting a SONIC CLEANING company in your area. How soon can I expect my order?

Each of our blinds and shades are custom made. You can expect to receive them about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks after ordering. Each order is shipped ground.

I have a warranty issue what do I do?

Your warranty cover any defects in material and workmanship. This warranty does not cover any alteration misuse or abuse of the blind. After contacting us we will determine what action if any needs to be taken. Slight bending or warpage of the slats on all 2 inch products is normal and not considered a defect. However extreme warpage is. Some fading can and will occur on real wood products, this is normal and not considered a defect. We are always here to help and answer any questions you might have on warranty issues. Warranties vary but products most come with a 3 year limited warranty with the option to upgrade to a 5 year warranty. For complete warranty information please visit the specific product.

What brand our our blinds?

Our blinds are manufactured by companies we have built relationships with by installing locally for the last 10+ years. They are a private label made just for us and have the same or better quality of the brand names. In fact most of our blinds and shades are made by a division of Hunter Douglas.

Does Hardware & Screws Come With My Order?

Everything you need comes with the shipment of your window coverings, with one exception: The right screws could differ depending upon the application of the job! However, in most cases a quarter inch hex head screw, which may be included with your order, will do the job for most applications. Although, there can be other applications ( drywall, concrete, or metal ) that would require the use of other types of screws that you will need to purchase. When you receive your order and there are no screws then you will need to purchase some at your local home improvement store. Keep in mind when installing your window coverings, that in most cases, you can use two screws per bracket and two to three brackets per window covering.

What Is Covered

Our window coverings are covered against manufacturing defects in materials or craftsmanship when used as intended, provided that:

  • The product has been correctly measured, installed, and operated.
  • All Blinds Chalet guidelines regarding product limitations, maintenance, and care have been followed.

Who Is Eligible

This warranty applies solely to the original purchaser of the product and is non-transferable.


Blinds Chalet’s Responsibility

If a covered defect is confirmed, Blinds Chalet will, at its discretion, repair the product, replace affected parts, or provide a comparable replacement.


Costs not included: The customer is responsible for expenses related to shipping as well as any measuring, installation, removal, or reinstallation services. Labor charges, service visits, and similar costs are not covered by this warranty.

What Is Not Covered

  • Damage resulting from accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, or neglect.
  • Improper measurement, installation, cleaning, or maintenance.
  • Normal wear and tear, including fading, discoloration, or deterioration from sunlight or moisture.
  • Frayed cords, cord breakage, or reduced cord performance due to age or heavy use.

Fading and normal aging of materials are expected characteristics and are not considered defects.


Warranty Limitations

This warranty is exclusive and replaces any other expressed or implied warranties. No Blinds Chalet employee or representative is authorized to modify or extend these terms.


Blinds Chalet will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from product use or failure.

Resolution on Warranties and Guarantees
  • BlindsChalet.com reserves, at its discretion, the right to repair, replace or refund any blinds found defective. Limit 1 remake per covered product.
  • If there are multiple blinds/shades in the same room, only the defective product will be replaced/repaired.
  • In the event that a product, color or product feature has been discontinued and it is no longer available we will provide a substitute product as similar as possible to the original blind or shade.
  • Shipping for warranty issues is the responsibility of the customer to and from the repair facility. Packaging on return shipments is the responsibility of the customer.
  • If a product or component has been discontinued, Blinds Chalet will repair or replace the affected part with the closest available match in design and color.

    If for any reason you are not satisfied with the window coverings and wish to return them for store credit, please notify us within 30 days of receiving the order. Our customer care department will provide a Return Goods Authorization number (RGA) and shipping address for the return. Please note, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer and shipping labels are not provided. Returns are for store credit only and store credit will be available immediately after the items are received (Guaranteed to Love fee is not credited).
