You’ll place and level the brackets, snap the headrail into place, attach the lift handle, and run a smooth first operation—no lift cords required. Use this guide for inside mount or outside mount installs.



Good to know: Bali Classic Roman shades deliver a tailored, fabric-forward look. Inside mounts give a built-in appearance; outside mounts add overlap to reduce edge light and hide out-of-square frames.

Tools You’ll Need


  • Tape measure, pencil, level, step stool

  • Drill/driver with 1/8" (3 mm) bit, Phillips bit

  • Appropriate anchors for your surface (wood, drywall, masonry)

  • Safety glasses


Before You Start


  • Depth/Overlap: For inside mount, confirm minimum recess depth; for outside mount, plan 1–2" overlap per side (more for darker rooms).

  • Dry-fit: Hold the headrail where it will sit to confirm clearance around locks/trim.

  • Bracket plan: Mark bracket faces so they’re co-planar (same height and plane) for a smooth snap-in.


Inside Mount — Step-by-Step


  1. Mark & pre-drill: Center the headrail in the opening and mark bracket locations level. Pre-drill with a 1/8" bit if necessary.

  2. Install brackets: Fasten left/right (add center support if provided). Faces must align on a single plane.

  3. Hook the headrail: Engage the headrail lip onto the bracket tabs (rear or front, per bracket style).

  4. Snap to lock: Rotate the headrail until each bracket clicks. Run a hand along the rail to confirm full engagement.

  5. Attach handle: Clip the handle at the center of the bottom rail for even operation.


Outside Mount — Step-by-Step


  1. Strike a level line: Mark a light, level line at your planned top height.

  2. Mark & pre-drill: Position brackets on the line at left/right overlap marks (add center support if needed). Pre-drill.

  3. Mount brackets: Fasten snug, keep faces co-planar.

  4. Seat headrail & lock: Hook the lip on the bracket tabs, rotate until each bracket clicks.

  5. Attach handle: Clip at the center of the bottom rail.


First Run & Leveling


  • Operate from center: Lift and lower with two hands at the center of the bottom rail for level travel.

  • Equalize: Run 2–3 full up/down cycles to balance the cordless mechanism.

  • Tilt fix: If one side sits higher, re-seat the headrail (ensure every bracket is locked), center the handle, and cycle again.


Light, Privacy & Finishing Touches


  • Inside mount: Expect small side light gaps—normal for shades.

  • Outside mount: Increase overlap for better darkness; consider side panels to frame the window and mask gaps.

  • Fabric relaxation: Let the shade hang fully lowered for 24–48 hours so folds relax after shipping.


Care & Cleaning


  • Dust with a microfiber duster; vacuum gently with a brush attachment.

  • Spot-clean lightly with mild soap and water; test in an inconspicuous area first.


Troubleshooting


  • No click: Brackets may be out of plane. Re-level and press the headrail firmly until each bracket clicks.

  • Uneven lift: Operate from the center; confirm all brackets are fully latched; run several full cycles.

  • Fabric rubs trim (outside mount): Add spacer blocks or shift bracket positions slightly to create clearance.

What’s the minimum depth for an inside mount Roman shade?


Minimum recess depth varies by headrail style. Check your product sheet; if depth is limited, a partial recess will work, but the headrail may project slightly beyond the frame.


Do I need a center support bracket?


For wider headrails, yes—a center support prevents flex and keeps the shade operating smoothly. Seat side brackets first, then snap the center support last to keep everything co-planar.


Why does my shade lift unevenly after install?


Operate from the center with two hands and cycle the shade fully a few times to balance the cordless spring. Also, confirm all brackets are locked and the handle is centered on the rail.


Can I steam out shipping wrinkles in the fabric?



First, let the shade hang fully lowered for 24–48 hours so folds relax. If needed, use a cool iron/garment steamer with a pressing cloth and light passes only—avoid direct heat on trims or liners and test a hidden area first.

What Is Covered

Our window coverings are covered against manufacturing defects in materials or craftsmanship when used as intended, provided that:

  • The product has been correctly measured, installed, and operated.
  • All Blinds Chalet guidelines regarding product limitations, maintenance, and care have been followed.

Who Is Eligible

This warranty applies solely to the original purchaser of the product and is non-transferable.


Blinds Chalet’s Responsibility

If a covered defect is confirmed, Blinds Chalet will, at its discretion, repair the product, replace affected parts, or provide a comparable replacement.


Costs not included: The customer is responsible for expenses related to shipping as well as any measuring, installation, removal, or reinstallation services. Labor charges, service visits, and similar costs are not covered by this warranty.

What Is Not Covered

  • Damage resulting from accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, or neglect.
  • Improper measurement, installation, cleaning, or maintenance.
  • Normal wear and tear, including fading, discoloration, or deterioration from sunlight or moisture.
  • Frayed cords, cord breakage, or reduced cord performance due to age or heavy use.

Fading and normal aging of materials are expected characteristics and are not considered defects.


Warranty Limitations

This warranty is exclusive and replaces any other expressed or implied warranties. No Blinds Chalet employee or representative is authorized to modify or extend these terms.


Blinds Chalet will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from product use or failure.

Resolution on Warranties and Guarantees
  • BlindsChalet.com reserves, at its discretion, the right to repair, replace or refund any blinds found defective. Limit 1 remake per covered product.
  • If there are multiple blinds/shades in the same room, only the defective product will be replaced/repaired.
  • In the event that a product, color or product feature has been discontinued and it is no longer available we will provide a substitute product as similar as possible to the original blind or shade.
  • Shipping for warranty issues is the responsibility of the customer to and from the repair facility. Packaging on return shipments is the responsibility of the customer.
  • If a product or component has been discontinued, Blinds Chalet will repair or replace the affected part with the closest available match in design and color.

Our customer care department will provide a Return Goods Authorization number (RGA) and shipping address for the return. Returns are for store credit only and store credit will be available immediately after the items are received (Guaranteed to Love fee is not credited).
