Video Description

This step-by-step video and checklist walks you through installing a Bali solar roller shade with EasyTouch: a smooth, cordless assisted-lift system. You’ll mount and level the brackets, snap the tube into place, choose the right roll direction, and complete a smooth first cycle—no chains or tensioners required.

What’s in the Box (Typical)

  • Solar roller shade (fabric pre-wrapped on tube; EasyTouch cordless mechanism)

  • Mounting brackets (left/right) + braket covers

  • Mounting screws; optional spacer blocks

  • Hold downs and pins (optional)

Tools You’ll Need

  • Tape measure, pencil, level, step stool

  • Drill/driver with 1/8" (3 mm) bit, Phillips bit

  • Appropriate anchors for drywall, wood, tile, or masonry

  • Small flathead screwdriver (for clip tabs/end-cap access)

Before You Start

  • Mount type: Inside mount = built-in look; outside mount = more overlap to reduce edge light.

  • Depth & clearance: Verify recess depth for inside mounts.

  • Roll direction: Standard roll feeds behind the tube (tight clearance). Reverse roll feeds in front to clear handles/trim and hide the tube.

Installation — Inside Mount

  1. Pre-drill & fasten brackets with mounting plates: Pre-drill with a 1/8" bit if necessary. Drive screws snug. Keep bracket faces aligned on one plane.

  2. Slide bracket covers onto brackets. Make sure the bracket is tucked underneath the bracket cover lip when the cully is attached.

  3. Insert the tube: Seat the idle/pin end into its bracket first, then compress the EasyTouch drive end into the opposite bracket until it clicks.

Solar Fabric Notes

  • Daytime: Solar weaves reduce glare and UV while preserving views.

  • Nighttime: Interiors are more visible with lights on—choose outside mount with added overlap or layer drapery for more privacy.

Care & Cleaning

  • Dust with a microfiber duster; vacuum gently with a brush attachment.

  • Spot-clean with mild soap and water; avoid harsh chemicals on the solar mesh and fascia finish.

Troubleshooting

  • Tube won’t snap in: Brackets may be out of plane or the drive end isn’t fully compressed. Re-level and seat each end firmly.

  • Roll drifts to one side (telescopes): Re-check bracket parallel and full seating; adjust any end-plug tracking screw per your model (tiny increments).

  • Raises too fast/too slow: Some EasyTouch units offer a small end-cap tension adjuster—make ¼-turn tweaks only and test between changes (see your product sheet).

EasyTouch Solar Roller - FAQs

Do I need a chain tensioner with EasyTouch?

No. EasyTouch is a cordless assisted-lift system—there’s no loop or tensioner. Always lift and lower from the center of the hem bar for level travel.

Should I choose standard roll or reverse roll?

Standard roll drops behind the tube for the tightest clearance and better side cover in inside mounts. Reverse roll feeds in front to clear handles/trim and conceal the tube, popular with outside mounts.

Why is my hem bar not level after install?

The tube may not be fully seated or brackets may be slightly out of plane. Re-seat both ends until they click and verify brackets are level and co-planar; run a few full cycles to allow EasyTouch to settle.

Can I fine-tune lift speed/tension on EasyTouch?

Some models include a small adjuster at the drive end. Make ¼-turn adjustments only and test. If your unit has no adjuster, contact support with a photo for model-specific guidance.

How can I reduce side light with solar shades at night?

Use an outside mount with added overlap, select a tighter openness (lower %) for less glow, and/or layer drapery to cover edges.
