The ultimate blackout shades! SlumberShades are specifically designed to block light and let you rest better. Each SlumberShade comes with side tracks that block the light that can pass between the window shades and the window frame.

Each SlumberShade comes with the following:
  • Sidetracks of your color choice lined with black interior for light control.
  • Fuzzy top and bottom seal to ensure the best possible light control.
  • Bottom magnetic seals on cordless shades to keep shade tightly closed at the bottom.

Note: The widest width of the window cannot exceed the narrowest by more than 1/4".


Note: Made with blackout fabric and designed for near-total blackout, these shades block about 99% of light. Minimal edge gaps may allow a small amount of light in, which is standard for blackout shades. For added light control, consider adding our Side Light Blockers.

The SlumberShade 1/2" Single Cell Blackout Shades purchased were as described and go much farther than any previous blinds or curtains to restrict light penetration into the sleeping area. Installation took was relatively easy and, in my case, only required the installation and alignment of two brackets on each window. They look great and allow very little light to enter the room during daylight hours. I have not yet used any of the additional foam and brush tapes provided to attempt to block additional light as the room is now so much darker during the morning; however, very light sleepers will want to use the foam and brush tapes to fill in any of the gaps that do allow light into the room. I would buy from Blinds Chalet again and would also consider these shades in any room in the house that needed total blackout.

We installed these shades on the flat surface of our skylights, which neither were true rectangles. We had to add magnetic strips tp some of the rails, to accommodate for the variations in the skylight shapes. All in all, these shades do a very good job in blocking light, both through the shades, and the rails. I had little to no prior experience installing cellular shades, much less overhead on a skylight. Take your time, make sure you measure 3-4 times to be as close to accurate as possible. The way that these shades are designed and built did allow for modifications to fit our skylights. We would recommend these shades to others, as well as Blinds Chalet.

What Is Covered

Our window coverings are covered against manufacturing defects in materials or craftsmanship when used as intended, provided that:

  • The product has been correctly measured, installed, and operated.
  • All Blinds Chalet guidelines regarding product limitations, maintenance, and care have been followed.

Who Is Eligible

This warranty applies solely to the original purchaser of the product and is non-transferable.


Blinds Chalet’s Responsibility

If a covered defect is confirmed, Blinds Chalet will, at its discretion, repair the product, replace affected parts, or provide a comparable replacement.


Costs not included: The customer is responsible for expenses related to shipping as well as any measuring, installation, removal, or reinstallation services. Labor charges, service visits, and similar costs are not covered by this warranty.

What Is Not Covered

  • Damage resulting from accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, or neglect.
  • Improper measurement, installation, cleaning, or maintenance.
  • Normal wear and tear, including fading, discoloration, or deterioration from sunlight or moisture.
  • Frayed cords, cord breakage, or reduced cord performance due to age or heavy use.

Fading and normal aging of materials are expected characteristics and are not considered defects.


Warranty Limitations

This warranty is exclusive and replaces any other expressed or implied warranties. No Blinds Chalet employee or representative is authorized to modify or extend these terms.


Blinds Chalet will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from product use or failure.

Resolution on Warranties and Guarantees
  • BlindsChalet.com reserves, at its discretion, the right to repair, replace or refund any blinds found defective. Limit 1 remake per covered product.
  • If there are multiple blinds/shades in the same room, only the defective product will be replaced/repaired.
  • In the event that a product, color or product feature has been discontinued and it is no longer available we will provide a substitute product as similar as possible to the original blind or shade.
  • Shipping for warranty issues is the responsibility of the customer to and from the repair facility. Packaging on return shipments is the responsibility of the customer.
  • If a product or component has been discontinued, Blinds Chalet will repair or replace the affected part with the closest available match in design and color.

Returns are for store credit only and store credit will be available immediately after the items are received (Guaranteed to Love fee is not credited).
